When Demotivation Appears, What To Do To Eliminate It?

When demotivation appears, what to do to eliminate it?

Sometimes it seems so difficult to stay focused on what we are doing, that it would be better for us to leave our workplace, or postpone the task at hand to another day. .

When we are not motivated or focused, everything seems much more difficult to do … We stop every two minutes, we sigh, we try to find the desire to continue … but it seems that sometimes the desire to continue either far.

When we want to achieve a goal but cannot concentrate, we feel overwhelmed and sad, and our anxiety and stress levels also increase.

Motivation is the fuel we need to drive our driving, the engine that helps us move forward, and a key piece of the puzzle we call a “project”. It also helps us to be more productive, creative, even happy.

So why is it so hard to get motivated and so easy to lose pace?

Demotivation can have  a snowball effect.

This metaphor is very interesting and fits the situation well. It is obvious that when you are not focused on what you are doing, it takes more time to achieve it.  Therefore, the other tasks to be performed pile up, pile up, and pile up again …

However, rather than seeing this as a challenge, we focus on the amount of paper or the to-do list, and therefore it is very difficult to “recharge the batteries”.

De-motivation is generally linked to a lack of interest in the goal, or to the fact that the goal to be achieved has not been determined correctly.

If we don’t know where we are going…  how can we decide which direction to take?

In the rest of this article, we invite you to discover the main reasons that lead us to demotivation, and we will explain how to fight them, even if you have to add to all this an ingredient more important than persistence:

Fear: Even if you think you know what you want and what goals you are aiming for, if you look inward, you will realize that in fact, you are scared to death. If you need to explore new territory and get out of your “comfort zone”, you may be feeling this fear.

You will feel like you have taken a step in the void, and therefore, you will not want or be able to keep moving forward. It’s a way of demotivating yourself.

To prevent this from happening, you have to detect your fears, and set up a strategy that can allow you to climb the ladder step by step, advancing slowly, but surely.

Plan your goals!

Bad goals: as we said before, if the goals are not clear or if they are not approved, it can be difficult for us to accomplish the tasks that these goals involve, regardless of whether they were assigned by others or by ourselves.

While it is always more difficult for you to concentrate on work, the problem may lie in the fact that you are not in harmony with the principles of the company in which you work, and that you are prefer to change position and company.

Go over the goals you need to achieve, and if they are not your own, there will still be time for you to readjust them so that you can meet your needs.

Obsession for the future: if you are too obsessed with what will happen tomorrow, you will never be able to deal with the present things.

While you are engaging in an activity, your mind should be focused on it and nothing else. If, on the contrary, you are thinking about the shopping list, the weekend outing, household chores, the date you will receive your salary, the exam next week, or the evening appointment, it will be very difficult for you to stay motivated.

Remember that what you are doing in the present must serve you to accomplish what you will do later.

If you have so much to do when you finish your day at work, then get involved and get things done quickly! Then you will have some free time left, which you can use as you see fit.

Fatigue: at a certain time of the year or in certain seasons, we have great difficulty concentrating, because  demotivation appears when we are too tired.

The best thing to do in this case is to get a good night’s sleep. This allows the brain to avoid being subjected to information saturation.

So, you will see how easy it will be for you to concentrate and succeed in making the time pass quickly. Your days off will come sooner than you think!
